The Istenhegy Genetic Diagnostics, Gynecology and Family Planning Center was founded in 2001 by domestic specialists. In the beginning, our main fields of activity were the examination of the genetic background of infertility and medical diagnostics based on special clinical tests, which were supplemented in 2003 with fetal abnormality screening.

Since then, the Center has become one of the country’s leading institutions in these areas. By 2012, the Istenhegy Genetic Diagnostic Center had performed some sort of screening test on 9% of expectant mothers in Hungary. This year, a third of the fetuses affected by Down’s syndrome detected during pregnancy were diagnosed at the Istenhegy Genetic Diagnostic Center. Our NIPT fetal genetic tests, iGen Nifty and Trisomy tests are the most performed screening tests in the country.

Thanks to the excellent work of our twenty biologist colleagues, our laboratory is a partner of hundreds of specialists throughout the country in genetic and other special tests.

Our Center in Budapest has state-of-the-art medical equipment, so that we can provide the highest possible level of care to the patients who come to us. Whether it is diagnostic care for pregnant women or couples wishing to have a child, or any other special outpatient appointment, patients who come to us can always count on us to wait for them in an atmosphere full of trust and with the utmost expertise.

In December 2023, we opened our Géndino children’s clinic dedicated to children, by moving our specialized clinics, which have been operating excellently for years, to a dedicated building, supplemented by an excellent general pediatric team. In the new clinic, we now welcome children and their parents in a really nice, friendly environment.
